the v4r3 version of the firewall package has the option to use virtual
private networks. i cannot delve too far into this, as we are not currently
using it, but as far as i understand, it would allow you to set up secure
connections via the internet using ip tunneling. once the connection has
been made, all communications from point to point are encrypted, and quite
secure.

we currently have a v4r3 firewall running, and i would like to see if we
can get that configured here, but as always, time is in short supply for
'frivolous' things. 8^)

feel free to ask any questions, i will answer what i can!

Company just received their 9406/170 and is interested in connecting to
the Internet. What they want is their remote employees to loggon the
Internet and access the AS400 from there. That way they don't have to
fuss with dial-up lines or accessing from clients' sites.
I have not found much of anything that I could determine would be
useful. If anyone could shine some light on the situation/references, I
would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You.
