There is a document "How to Troubleshoot Windows 95 Shutdown Problems" out on MS's support web page that will take you through the steps to identify the shutdown problem. The PCs that I have "fixed" only required removing the CA Login Check Version from the Startup folder. Usually, very broad statement, the problem will be in the Startup Folder. A quick check for the Startup folder possibility is to reboot the computer and press the SHIFT key until Windows 95 loads; click the start button; and then shutdown. If Windows does NOT hang during the shutdown, a program in the Startup folder is causing the problem. If Windows does hang, then you need to really dig using the above mentioned document. boothm@ibm.net on 11/12/97 07:38:51 PM Has anyone had trouble getting their Win95 machines to shut down properly after installing Client Access? We've had the problem on two brand new Gateway Pentium machines and on two older machines, so we feel it is not related to the new Win95 file system. Of course after being shut down hard the next startup requires a complete scandisk and its all a real bummer. +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
