1) You need observability to migrate. If the vendor is going to supply new "RISC-Ready" code ethn that solves that problem. 2) CA/400 can run pure native TCP/IP, not requiring the Netsoft router. On V3R7 + it can also run IPX/SPX. However in both TCP/IP & IPX you cannot assign workstation names (they use QPADEVxxxx), and the standard printer emulation doesn't work - you need to use LPD on the PC.
