They have lots of hands-on stuff in them. Also, many books from both that teach a lot better than IBM manuals (nothing better for insomnia, IMO). They also have videos and CD collections available, as well as Web sites ( http://www.news400.com and http://www.midrangecomputing.com ). There's also a company called ATS (Automated Training Systems) that has lots of training materials on AS/400. Web site is http://www.ibmuser.com . I've not used them, but they've been around a long time. COMMON conventions are another great resource. Also, local user groups. News/400, I think, sometimes has lists of these...yeah, look on their Web site, under Education (I just checked). IBM has some courses that you can install and use on the AS/400, rather elementary, 'tho. I really like this group, too. It's been a great help to me. Also, check out the newsgroup comp.sys.ibm.as400.misc . Lots of activity, not everyone there is on this mailing list.
