Opening a Database File', from the 'Database Programming' manual is mostly about OPNQRYF, and gives lots more info than the material presented in the CL manual. Also, look at 'Appendix D. Query Performance: Design Guidelines and Monitoring' and 'Appendix E. Using the DB2 for OS/400 Predictive Query Governor'. There's some relevant material in the SQL manuals, esp. on performance, since SQL uses the same processing engine as OPNQRYF.
