Any method that would not work after a release upgrade is not legitimate.

An example: the undocumented methods used in OfficeVision which forced IBM
to discontinue the product because the product would not work without code
fixes on V4R5.
( An implicit admission by IBM that their software products have unfair
access to undocumented OS features that 3rd party developers dont have. )
