I would definitely join and support a Mapics user group. I was part of the
Symix group a number of years ago and it was absolutely fantastic.

I approached MAPICS about doing just that - setting up a MAPICS website /
discussion thread independent of MAPICS Inc. Also a place where
"unapproved" third parties could reach the MAPICS user community. I was
told that the MAPICS user group (an expansion of the Symix user group)
would do all that and it was in the process of cranking up. In fact, they
were represented at the conference and had their information in the
attendee bags.

Are you folks all planning to join and support the MAPICS User Group?  I
think that will be your best way to get an independent discussion thread
going.
