Tim,

You may want to look at American-Presence software. They are the provider of
the Fax interface to MAPICS (all the forms that can be faxed are listed when
you look at printer overrides beginning with FX).  They also have an email
interface and Alert system.  One of my customers uses the Alerts to notify
their Credit Department, Sales reps and Sales mgrs when COM Orders go on Hold
or are released from Hold. They can send the alert as an email or  fax, send
it to a pager/cellular/PDA.  Attachments can be as an Excel, Word, File or
HTML.

It's pretty neat.
