-- We have been doing MAPICS PR for approx 8-10 years. Basically, you need first to understand payroll and it's functions. MAPICS supports Federal requirements but not all city, and state requirements. Also, are you going to do direct deposit....that is a little bit more tricky to set up. Then what interfaces are your going to be using....PCC or PM&C? Detailed payroll history at the job level - you may have to purchase a 3rd party enhancement or write your own. Interfacing with Human Resource Packages can be a challenge. Jerry Roberts at MAPICS Support is outstanding and has been just great for support questions. Understanding of shifts, automatic OT calcs, etc. are basic payroll function. MAPICS can be tailored to support most requirements. But anyway you cut it, payroll is a pain, especially at year end. Good luck to you. If you need to talk to someone who has been there, I am willing. Contact me off line. Gail Crane Johanson Mfg.
