RE: Getting started...

That's strange.  All the boxes that I used for Windows development are
(as luck would have it) Win98SE.  So, this surprises me.

As soon as you run "make" it GPFs?  No other messages beforehand?

You could try typing "make clean" (which deletes everything that's already
been compiled) and then "make" again.   (I don't know why that would
matter, but Windows isn't the most robust OS around)

If that doesn't help, maybe something got messed up in your copy of make
or gcc?  You could try creating a quickie program & Makefile (just a hello
world would probably suffice) and see if that will compile happily or
not...
