Never meant to attribute that to you, dude!

Anyway, downloaded the tn5250-0.16.3w tarball from your site and downloaded
the MinGW thingy too. Followed your instructions, I think, to a "T", but
locked up my Win98SE system on:

BUILDING TN5250:
------------------------
   7) To build TN5250, type:
          make

The first time through, I saw a bunch of gcc -DNOBLINK's followed by
DLLLINK(?), DLL????, & DLLLINK (?), followed by another gcc -DNOBLINK, and
then something that I can't for the life of me remember, but this particular
app was fingered by a GPF-type screen, I couldn't copy it to the clipboard,
and I was trying to paste a screen image into a word document and type some
details when all of a sudden the system FROZE solid, no mouse, no keyboard.
Subsequent tries failed after rebooting, with the same results, only now the
GPF happens right after running MAKE.

Any thoughts to help me through this would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I didn't use the term "icky" :)

to get started, grab the tarball from
     http://klement.dstorm.net/tn5250-0.16.3w.tar.gz

Use winzip or similar tool to unzip it. Inside that package is a "win32"
directory, that contains all of the Windows-specific stuff.

There's a free (open-source) compiler that we've been using for this
project called MinGW.

In that Win32 directory there is a file called "README.txt" which explains
where to get the compiler and other dependencies, and how to build
everything. (Make sure you look at the README.txt in the Win32
directory, and not one of the other README's)

I'm also working on a "setup" type of that will be used to install a
precompiled version of tn5250 on Windows systems, for non-developers.
I haven't finished that yet, though.

The web site will be updated to mention Windows etc once an "official
release" has been made that includes the Windows code. (The Windows stuff
is new) The biggest barrier to making a Windows release right now is
the lack of documentation for Windows users, which I am also working on.
