Calling java from RPG best practise

Hi,
i have to call java programs from RPGLE, I am able to
do that but need some information for designing this
project
1. I was reading some manual and came accross creating
JVM envoirnment and then destroying it when calling
java program from RPG, DO i have to do it??
what does it mean by this
2. When i call Java program does a seperate instance
of class is created for each RPG program.
3. What is the best practise for doing this kind of
project
