I'm not sure that's correct, Eric. We have been running JavaMail on our
AS400s (although not in servlets) since we had V4R2, and we now have V4R4.
We are not running Java 2, to my knowledge. Although it's possible that
more recent versions of JavaMail do use Java 2 features. For using JavaMail
in servlets? JavaMail comes with a collection of examples of how to use it
in general, and there's nothing special in the code to prevent it from being
used in servlets. The main problem with using it in servlets, I think,
would be to make sure that mail.jar and activation.jar are findable by
Websphere.

Be aware Mike,

The javamail api is a Java 2 api and therefore will
not work correctly under Java1.1.7 (the default
ibm-websphere version). So to use this api you must
have Websphere Version3.5 and Lic PGm 5769JV1 Option 3
installed on your system.
