Thanks Brad and Luther for the input. I got it working with you help. Brad
the Java tip was exactly what I needed, plus I have a new web site to check
for information.

Again thanks for the help.

Playing audio in applications is a bit tricky because Java by default only
supports .au files. To get audio in an application in JDK 1.1 (an applet is
easy), you have to resort to the undocumented sun.audio classes. See:

http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javatips/jw-javatip24.html

But then you're still limited to .au files. JMF will play .wavs and WILL
work with JDK 1.1.x. Here's a few lines from the JMF FAQ:

"What version of the Java Development Kit (JDK) is needed to run Sun's JMF
1.1 implementation?

JDK 1.1 or later versions. For complete Y2K compliance, you should use JDK
1.1.6 or later. "

I think JMF is your best bet unless you're willing to convert to the .au
format.

Brad
