I would think that, because the Auto-connect is
initiated at my PC, that I should not need to open those
ports. Actually, it's a matter of allowing traffic on
those ports to be forwarded through that LinkSys router
to my IP address inside.

Is that right?

I had to forward 4200, so that the 400 could initiate
the conversation.

I'll probably want to bunch the ports together, since I
am limited by the router in the number of forwarding
rules. Eventually we should probably have a real
firewall unit.
