The current design (or restriction ) for making any server properties change on a Communication console is as follow. - Select the 'Change' button on the server page. - Select 'OK' button. - Exit the CODE editor - Exit the CPO - Right click the Communication Daemon icon and select 'Close' - 'Start->Programs->IBM WDT for iSeries->Communications->Communication Daemon' to restart the daemon Changing the Server information including, name, uid or pwd without closing the daemon may result in inconsistent data being passed between the internal CODE communications layers. I just tried this and changed my server name from AECAUX to AECAUXRS. My server IP address or name is still a valid IP address. However, when I open a project and try to expand any filter, I get an error EVF1160E "Server AECAUX not active at this time". I suspect that changing the server name should be done before you create any projects and filters that reference the former server name. Don't ask me why. I think what you'll need to do after you change everything back is reboot. I'm about to try the same thing. I think I clicked the Communications Console, and changed the server name from OS400A to just OS400. Now when I try to start CodeEditor, I get a dialog box titled "Program Error" with the text "evfcsvrd.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."
