Hi Douglas, I just only now realized that if you go to the first web page I mention, that it talks about environment variables. The important one is the HELP environment variable. If that is not set properly, then you will see the hangs that you describe in you previous post. This is the most likely culprit for your lack of help. I am happy to say, that the environment variable problem has been resolved in our next release (you will not have to manually add them) and that I have also added some code to ensure that when the help variable is missing, that CODE dialogs and windows do not hang anymore. thanks, Violaine Batthish CODE/400 Project Lead batthish@ca.ibm.com IBMCA(BATTHISH) CODE/400 page: http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/varpg WDT/400 Support : http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/update_downloads.html Violaine Batthish/Toronto/I To: CODE400-L@midrange.com BM@IBMCA cc: Sent by: Subject: Re: Errors with Windows2000 and Windows/NT? owner-code400-l@mi drange.com 04/18/2001 01:00 PM Please respond to CODE400-L Hi Douglas, There are several things to be aware of when installing on Windows NT or Windows 2000. The special notes as considerations can be found at the following web page: http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/html/readmev4r5m1_enu.html#Install Win NT-2000 The web page is missing on piece of information (which will be updated soon) which is CODE users must be Power Users. Regular user do not have enough access to the registry to use CODE/400, which will cause the "hangs" you desribe in your note. As for help, you can find a trouble shooting guide on the following web page: http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/update_downloads.html I will also forward your note to a help team member, in hopes that he can assist you. thanks, Violaine Batthish CODE/400 Project Lead batthish@ca.ibm.com IBMCA(BATTHISH) CODE/400 page: http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/varpg WDT/400 Support : http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/update_downloads.html +--- | This is the CODE/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to CODE400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to CODE400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to CODE400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: larry@paque.net +---
