Hi Douglas, There are several things to be aware of when installing on Windows NT or Windows 2000. The special notes as considerations can be found at the following web page: http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/html/readmev4r5m1_enu.html#Install Win NT-2000 The web page is missing on piece of information (which will be updated soon) which is CODE users must be Power Users. Regular user do not have enough access to the registry to use CODE/400, which will cause the "hangs" you desribe in your note. As for help, you can find a trouble shooting guide on the following web page: http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/update_downloads.html I will also forward your note to a help team member, in hopes that he can assist you. thanks, Violaine Batthish CODE/400 Project Lead batthish@ca.ibm.com IBMCA(BATTHISH) CODE/400 page: http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/varpg WDT/400 Support : http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/update_downloads.html "Douglas Edwards" <Douglas.Edwards@a To: "CODE400-L@midrange.com" <CODE400-L@midrange.com> lltel.com> cc: Sent by: Subject: Errors with Windows2000 and Windows/NT? owner-code400-l@mi drange.com 04/17/2001 02:37 PM Please respond to CODE400-L Our company is rolling out CODE/400 to developers and analysts. As part of the rollout, I had a session for 12 users. The PC's are all new PC's with plenty of memory, and with Windows2000 as the OS. The students were going through IBM's CODE/400 Introduction Lab. And all had CODE/400 lock up at the same places. Afterwards, tried this on a WindowsNT PC, with the same results. Meanwhile, I can do the same thing on my PC with Windows95 with no problems. All CODE/400 installs are at V4R5M1. Here are the problem areas: Designer - locks up when working with indicator sets Does not allow you to submit compiles in the Editor - When selecting Compile-Prompt, you can make changes to the parameters, such as selecting CRTBNDRPG, but as soon as you press Submit, CODE Program Generator and the editor lock. Prompted on a D Spec, but when you position your cursor under Keywords and press F1, the editor locks. Not a single PC could do the above things, except for my PC with Win95. Needless to say, this first class was not very impressed with CODE/400. Any suggestions?
