Most everyone I know would buy one for themselves to develop on. I've got a lot of ideas I'd like to develop, but I don't want to spend the $10,000+ to get the machine and the software and etc. So, I'm renting time on a friends machine. -----Original Message----- From: owner-code400-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-code400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Dave Mahadevan Sent: Friday, June 02, 2000 3:35 PM To: CODE400-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: Developer's AS/400 (was: CODE400 4 Free) I second and third this. This is a great idea and extremely suitable for a 170/270. This will also bring in more developers thus making the AS/400 platform as a solid alternate to the buggy NT. Maybe IBM can kindly request the buyer from using it as a production machine and prevent sales erosion from 7xx and 8xx series. But IBM should refrain from crippling the system because of the pricing.
