Thanks to all who offered help; the suggestions kept my brain moving in the right direction. The credit memos are output from a custom program. The program is supposed to find the debit memo entered, update the remaining amount, increment the sequence, and write a credit memo. It does, and everything looks great on the Account inquiry and statement, until monthend. The close program (ACR900) uses the field ARODTP (Original Doc Type) in the key when soft-deleting. The program that wrote the credit memo hard-coded '3' for ARODTP rather than taking the value from the original value. Oops. A quick fix program fixed the ARODTP, and the custom program was corrected. >>> TJedrzejewicz@contessa.com 01/02/03 02:01PM >>> Folks - got a strange issue here. A customer took a deduction on a payment on 2-Dec, and A/R entered a Debit Memo to account for the difference. This is standard procedure. After the deduction was checked to be correct, a Credit Memo was entered on 26-Dec and properly offset the Debit Memo. However, when the AR close was run, the original Debit was soft-deleted (status to ZD), and the associated Credit was left active (status = 'RC'). So now the credit shows on the statement, and the statement (ACR410) doesn't balance to A/R. Any help would be appreciated . . . we are on v4.0.03. Thanks!
