Gordon, I wrote a program that loads the workstation data area by user profile. I did this to combat several problems. 1st) Virtual workstations create a rather long name over 8 characters. This causes problems with BPCS. BPCS adds a Q as a prefix to the workstation data area name. example QQPADEV000. 2nd) With BPCS 6.002 Device names drive document prints & re-prints it is very important that you do not have your device names longer than 8 characters. Example: Device: QPADEV0001 would create a data area QPADVE000 that means devices 1 through 9 would all use the same data area. If you were ship confirming on device 1 and lets say running an open orders report on device 2 you could run into problems printing the wrong report through the wrong interface (we experienced this problem at one time). Note: You can rename your virtual device names after the system has created them. This will stop the above problem.
