Gordon. We experienced the same problem. My solution was to write a CL program to save the settings by user name. BPCS saves the settings in a data area that gets its name from the workstation id. My program retrieves the user settings and the workstation id. It then deletes data area for that workstation and replaces it with a copy of the user's settings. Once this happens the program calls BPCSMENU and everything processes normally. Upon exiting BPCS you will need to reverse the process to save any setting changes back into the user's data area. Feel free to contact me if you would like specifics. Good Luck, Charles. -----Original Message----- From: Coen,Gordon [mailto:gordon.coen@abbott.com] Sent: Tuesday, May 25, 1999 6:20 AM To: BPCS-L@midrange.com Subject: Workstation Data Areas I am currently working on an implementation of BPCS 6.0.04. One of the many problems that I have encountered is the use of work station names for assigning printer / writer device name. Due to nature of our AS400 network , work station names are dynamically allocated. As a result the work station names 'move' around different areas of our plant and consequently output should be directed to different printer. I would rather not have to train users to work with their spool files. Has anyone got a solution to this problem.
