You can change the system to use the User ID instead of the workstation name. SSA has already started doing this for COM with BMR 36186. Take a look at ZSY010C, it is a new CLP added for this BMR. You will need to make changes to SYS003B, SYS003C, SYS010C, and SYS011C. owner-bpcs-l@midrange.com on 05/25/99 07:37:29 AM Please respond to BPCS-L@midrange.com @ INTERNET To: BPCS-L@midrange.com @ INTERNET cc: Subject: Workstation Data Areas I am currently working on an implementation of BPCS 6.0.04. One of the many problems that I have encountered is the use of work station names for assigning printer / writer device name. Due to nature of our AS400 network , work station names are dynamically allocated. As a result the work station names 'move' around different areas of our plant and consequently output should be directed to different printer. I would rather not have to train users to work with their spool files. Has anyone got a solution to this problem.
