If a V5R3 system with an SBCS primary language can support DBCS secondary languages, then what is the use for Primary Lang 2984 English U/L DBCS? (why would anyone ever need a DBCS English language feature?) The reason I ask is because we're working on the config for a new i5 and we've configured it with 2984 as the primary (with intent to install 5562 DBCS as one of the secondaries). Prior to V5R3 it would have been necessary to do it this way, but I'm wondering if it still is or if we could have 2924 as primary instead. If either one would work, any pros/cons either way? Go to the V5R3 Information Center and select Programming/Globalization/What's new for V5R3 The first item is what you are looking for.
