Considering that you can plug your iSeries into a SAN today, what part of external disk are you missing? Granted, I wouldn't personally use that solution for "classic" objects (LIC, OS/400, *PGM, *FILE, etc.) I think it's a great solution for images and other stuff you might stick into the IFS where performance may be less of an issue. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President & CEO Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur. The external disk thing will really take off when you can add non-IBM disks (i.e. non-IBM prices) into the system or user-asp. Mirroring or disk-to-disk backups could become a financial possibility for lots of shops with smaller iSeries. Perhaps someone somewhere in the iSeries world is already attaching non-IBM disks to their ASP and would like to share their experiences with those of us 'confined' to internal disk? http://www.iseries400experts.com/aiw/06-0704.jsp Kind regards, Jeffrey E.
