Jeff,

I don't think you are talking about save files because that horse ain't
going to run in this pack. Too slow, and most commands won't work, (like
saving multiple libraries to a single save file).

If you are talking about mirrored IASP's, in which one is an identical
copy. Which in turn could be taken off like and saved twice - I don't
know enough about IASP's to make a statement.

Now, GST makes a tape drive that will automatically dup to another as it
saves, or some such process. That way you could get by with one tape
drive and still get your offsite copy. I don't use it, but I've seen the
ad's.

This is what I would like to do:

1) Restrict the system
2) Back up the entire system (complete image) to another set of disk
drives
3) Bring the system back from a restricted state
4) Transfer from this 2nd set of disk drives to tape

Can this be done? Wouldn't this be a lot smaller restricted window than
any
tape backup? Would this be a lot more expensive than having 2 tape drives
to duplicate tapes for offsite storage? Is anyone already doing this?
