Yes, I am now using Zend Server and Drupal in my customer demos :-)
Stay tuned for a webinar on the subject. Hopefully before COMMON.
Zend Server's full page caching can really help performance of a content
management website.

Mike,
Have you tried running CMS (Drupal, Wordpress, Joomla) and wiki software
on the new Zend Server for i5?
Even if our shop doesn't adopt PHP as a standard programming language
(still being decided), we might be able to justify bringing Zend Server
i5 into our shop to give CMS, wiki, and other Web 2.0 capabilities to
our users.

You are right Aaron, Zend Server CE and Core are no charge, as is Zend
Studio thanks to our partnership with IBM. FYI, Zend Server will
supersede the current Zend Core product. The beta is currently running
at the link under my signature.
The original agreement with IBM was for a perpetual license of Core &
Studio. Silver support would run for 3 years from your first download.
The new agreement with IBM provides for the same perpetual license for
Core/Server CE and Studio but with Silver support for 1 year.
While the products will run perpetually, support will expire after the 1
year or 3 year window of the original agreement, depending on where you
are (It's by serial number folks). So anyone who has downloaded the
solution set since Feb 1, 2009 has 1 year of silver support. Once the
anniversary of the first download is over, the product will continue to
run but without support. For companies who like to have support for
mission critical solutions we are here. For those who don't feel the
need for support I offer a hearty Good Luck and we'll be here if/when
you need us.
I hope that answers the question, but I think the question will keep
popping up. The rhetoric on the emails has been less than ideal and we
are in the process of correcting that.
If you have any questions, please drop me a line and I'd be happy to
assist.
If you are aware of any correspondence that contradicts the information
above please let me know so we can address that directly.
Regards,
Mike

How much is support? I would imagine they want to start capitalizing on
their investment which I don't have issue with, though I hope they will
always provide a free Zend CE (Community Edition) server for IBM i.

Why is Zend pushing the support of the Zendcore product on the iSeries
so
much?
They are relentless in trying to get me to pay for support for what I
thought was supposed to be a free product.
What is the deal?
Will my PHP server suddenly stopped working if I don't purchase a
support
contract or what?
This is worse than having the Jehovah's Witnesses knocking on my door
all
the time.
