Programs tend to show the philosophy and mentality of the languages they are written in, so the analogy is not THAT bad :)
The old hammer & nail metaphor is certainly repeated on Midrange Lists like a mantra. But it always bewilders me to have it applied to computer languages and platforms, which by their natures are designed to be boundlessly morphed, reshaped, extended, and so forth through programming - totally unlike hammers and nails.
