Anton/Aaron, %alloc() is limited to the Default Heap associated with an Activation Group. However, you can create and manage your own heaps using the ILE Bindable Storage Management API's. See the following link: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/apis/ile8a1TOC.ht m For an explanation of how heaps are used in ILE, consult chapter 8 in the ILE Concepts Guide: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/books/c4156066.pdf Regards, John Taylor > -----Original Message----- > From: Behalf Of Anton Gombkötö > > Hi Aaron, > > as coincidences occur, we had just today to play around with > a program ALLOCating storage and found out that we weren't > able to ALLOCate more than 8MB in this situation (although > according to the manual, we should be able to allocate 16MB - > 512 bytes).
