"Okay... if the surge protector has insurance on it, start the process to see
if you can get it tested to be bad, if it doesn't have insurance it is worth
the money to get one (and pray that your house insurance company will
replace it). They can tell you if the surge protector is bad, they should
replace it for free and they will start the process of getting you the money
for replacing the computer. I would take it to a "certified" tech and tell
them the problems. Ask them to give you a quote for repair.

As far as testing everything. There isn't much you can really do. The power
supply can be tested per the other post. I always hated working with those,
the one person I helped (when I was a repair tech) I think bought a new
computer. Some problems aren't noticeable until months later."

Well Mike, those are not happy news. I will take the PC to be revised.

Thanks for your help.
