The main thing that you will want to save are your connections and filters (Remote Systems artifacts), save them separate from the other stuff (which can be version specific and bring it’s own issues). Go to File >Export… then Rational Developer for I >Configuration Files and de-select everything but the Remote Systems artifacts and save that to a .cfg file. Then you can make a new workspace and reverse it with File>Import…

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: [WDSCI-L] Rational Upgrade questions
Thank you everyone for your tips, I appreciate it!
I have never backed up my workspace [that I know of]. When I click File ->
Export, I get a list asking what I want to Export. Based on responses, I
need to backup "Rational Developer for i" and "Remote Systems". When I
click on those, I get two additional selections under each one, and can
only highlight one at a time.
Do I Export all 4 of them? Are these the correct ones? Are there others? I
have Exported and Imported my Snippets before and will do that too.
Thank you again,
Doug
