I used to do that back in the days of using PCWIN... Then I would do it with ACS... but with the RDi 5250 emulator, If I leave the tabs open when I exit, they will be there the next time I start RDi. I still have to sign in, which is preferable under the current circumstances, but I don't have to start the sessions each time. Plus, I have two screens, top and bottom, (horizontal) for each of the two systems I work on. Most of the time, two is enough.

That won't happen with the ACS emulator as I shut down my system each night. I'll have to start the emulation session each time and sign in. An extra step, but nothing to distracting and certainly not debilitating. If I knew what I was doing, I probably could set up a command key or function key, or something to automatically do it. Some day I may find out how to do that.

My desire for the ACS emulator being available in RDi is met by the ability to call it directly inside RDi. So I'm not sure I have an issue any longer.

I usually have 5250 sessions for the systems open anyway so I would never have thought to look for 5250 inside RDi, although I have tried it just to see it work.

I admit I was late to the table to get into ACS within RDi. And when
I finally DID get it, I was focused on SQL scripts.

I started using ACS emulators way back when IBM announced giving up
support for PCWIN (or whatever it was called... can't remember). But
I gave up on it because I wanted to focus on using RDi without having
to open so many different apps. And the missing ability to
double-click on a word was so insignificant that I just didn't care
overly. Plus, I am using Green Screen so much less now that I can
open SQL scripts using ACS within RDi.

I'm in agreement with Jim regarding replacing the emulator (and SQL
scripts) within RDi with the ACS versions. There's probably some
legal reason for not doing so.

Well, one day everything will be perfect. But I'm sure it will be
after I retire.

Duane, if I've understood correctly, in RDi you doing the following:
1). right-click OBJECTS Subsystem
2). from the Context Menu, selecting HOST CONNECTION EMULATOR (HCE) 3).
trying double-click-left-mouse-button (DLMB) on (any) text to select
it
