Well, blow me down!

It's like I was running beside the bike because I was too late to get on it.

Brian: Thanks for making me slow down enough to see what was there all along.

I admit I was late to the table to get into ACS within RDi. And when I finally DID get it, I was focused on SQL scripts.

I started using ACS emulators way back when IBM announced giving up support for PCWIN (or whatever it was called... can't remember). But I gave up on it because I wanted to focus on using RDi without having to open so many different apps. And the missing ability to double-click on a word was so insignificant that I just didn't care overly. Plus, I am using Green Screen so much less now that I can open SQL scripts using ACS within RDi.

I'm in agreement with Jim regarding replacing the emulator (and SQL scripts) within RDi with the ACS versions. There's probably some legal reason for not doing so.

Well, one day everything will be perfect. But I'm sure it will be after I retire.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Double-left-click mouse event on Host Connection

Duane, if I've understood correctly, in RDi you doing the following:
1). right-click OBJECTS Subsystem
2). from the Context Menu, selecting HOST CONNECTION EMULATOR (HCE) 3). trying double-click-left-mouse-button (DLMB) on (any) text to select it

Is this correct?

As others have already pointed out, DLMB doesn't work on the HCE; (it is an awful emulator, IMHO)

However, at Step 1). (above) you also have the option, LAUNCH 5250 EMULATOR, (this is a link to the ACS emulator which is bundled with RDi as well). This /does/ handle DLMB as you wish.

I have tried a few other emulators:
- iSphere 5250
- Mochasoft
- PCOMM
none of these offer DLMB selection. (In some case you can "draw" a selection rectangle around the desired text by holding down the LMB and dragging the mouse.)

So, I don't think you're missing a setting in HCE. I /do/ think you're missing out on a better (the best?) emulator i.e. ACS. Hope this helps.

Brian.

I'm missing something somewhere (probably-definitely).

I would like the host connection to select the word where the cursor is focused when the mouse is double-left-clicked. Works on other emulators, but in RDi I cannot discover how to "make it so".

Am I saying it well enough to be understood?

Can anybody help me?

I do as much as I can through RDi and this is one thing that bugs me about not being able to get it working. Not the ONLY thing, but the one that I would like to see working now.

Duane
