Possibly crazy idea, but maybe a Linux guru might chip in...

Is it possible to install a lightweight Linux on a thumb drive or external drive, then install RDi for Linux there? RDi does run on Linux doesn't it? Totally bypass any Windows registry issues, but is it practical.

I tried both ways (from RDi and from IBM installation manager). Neither of them gave me an option to install the key using laptop 2.

I guess I am going to accept defeat on this one. What a shame. I was really hoping I could get it working and justify the purchase.

If anyone can figure out how to get it to work 100% from a thumb drive so NOTHING is stored on my client's laptops, please let me know and I will revisit the topic. Again, I will emphasize, I can't put ANYTHING on the client's laptop...company policy and reason for dismissal. Also, I do not have admin authority on the laptop to install it anyhow. My only option is to install it to a removable device which can be plugged into the laptop and will work AS IS.
