Mike,
Thanks for all your help in this matter. It is appreciated!
I am sharing my continued testing/verification.
I did a complete unstill/Wipe of all my RDI installations. I even wiped the SDP* folders, including SDPSHARED. And then did a brand web-install of rdi. And then created a BRAND NEW workspace too. No import of setting. No installed plugins either. :)
RDi debugger/*LISTING still cannot handle *FREE formatted code. Code that begins before the Old Punch-Card spec column-06.
So, far I have verified this on 4 different computers...
PS. I am going to now, re-import my setting, and set up my needed plugins. I thought the whole purpose of using Eclipse was the availability of plugins. A single Integrated Development environment.
Oh well, this proves without doubt, that it had nothing to do with Plugins! At least in our case. <grin>
Oh well, another new video proof on the brand new install with NO PLUGINS. Nor any import of saved settings.

Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] RDI 9.6.0.5 is NOT 100% **FREE compatible...
Mike,
Thanks!
I have uninstalled the following Plugins:
* Turnover
* Pathfinder
* RPGUNIT
* iSphere
Then I close all my open member tabs. Which was only two.
Next I cleared my cache.
After that, I used the "Snake-Oil" cure of restarting with the -clean option. <Big Goofy Grin>
Then created a brand new workspace. And did not IMPORT of any settings, Barebones RDI 9.6.0.5.
Created single connection to the test box, and connected.
Next I open the DEBUG perspective, and set S.E.P for my test program.
Call my program, and switched the debug view to *LISTING.
And surprise, I got the same results! So, I guess we can rule out the Plug-in theory... Nice try... :P
Maybe we can do a screen share or something... <grin>
PS. I guess, next I will try a complete UNINSTALL and RE-INSTALL of RDI. Maybe that will fix it??????

Hi Ken,
That is interesting. Do you both have the same set of plugins installed with RDI? Plugins can trap events from editors changing their behaviour, though in this case I'm not sure what events would be emitted from the Debug Editor.
There is obviously something going on in your environment making it different from normal.
Thanks, Mike

Thanks Buck! I just wonder why it does not work for me.
So, just to be clear, you were able to double-click on these two lines?
For ef2_max# = 1 to %elem(ef2_dta); // Double-Click does not work...
^^^^^^^^
Return ef2_max#; // Double-click does not work...
^^^^^^^^
In the Debug editor/*LISTING in debugging mode.

What version of IBM i are you running on and what compile or compile
and bind commands are you using?
I can't say I often double click anything, so I tried Ken's sample on
7.3 TR5, RDi 9.6.0.5 and I can select every single variable via double-click without issue. CRTBNDRPG PGM(BUCK/KEN)
SRCFILE(BUCK/QRPGLESRC) SRCMBR(KEN) REPLACE(*YES) OPTION(*EVENTF)
DBGVIEW(*SOURCE)
I tried 4 scenarios:
1) Single step, and at each line, double-click every variable
2) Single step, and at each line, Alt-tab away from the debugger, Alt-tab back and try to double-click every variable
3) Set a breakpoint inside the FOR loop, when stopped, double-click every variable
4) Set a breakpoint inside the FOR loop, when stopped, Alt-tab away and back, then double click every variable
