Ok, that's the same properties tab I already had open...

Do you actually have something that indicates absolute vs relative?

Or is it just a matter of SPACEx vs SKIPx?

When you change from absolute to relative, do the fields defined with line#
reorder and get a SPACEx?

That's what I'd have thought... :)

But when I right-click on the record in the outline view...I don't get a
context menu.

Also, I have the properties tab showing...and with the record format
selected, I don't see any absolute/relative property to change.

running 9.6.0.3

I'm still running 9.5.1.2 and you can't right click the record
format in the outline view. I select the desired record format in the
design view and right-click there (away from any defined fields) to get
the context menu that provides the Properties selection for the record
format. Then, in the Properties view I select the Basics tab that shows
the Positioning attributes that can be changed. I even tested adding a
new absolute record format and went to the properties view to change it to
relative.

Must admit, I'm a newbie to report designer....

Is there some way to switch a record from absolute to relative
positioning?

Making changes to a report, adding a multi-line trailer that I
accidentally
defined as absolute. I should have defined it as relative. Is
there
anyway to switch it in report designer?

Or do I have to delete & start over / or manually change the DDS
source?

If you right click the record format and select properties
from
the context menu then you can change the positioning for the record
format
in the Properties view..
