Not saying there's no value in our proprietary source code, but the primary
concern is keeping malware out of the network for which access to a lot of
financial data is at stake. Having customer data on our fully-encrypted
work desktops is a fireable offense, no warnings. Can't even access the
DB2 database from System i Navigator. (And *that* REALLY sucks.)

I'm still learning all of the security protocols here.

If you use RDi you can download the source as a project and then copy your
workspace to a thumb drive - then use that on the home machine.

It does seem a little amusing that they won’t let you connect but you can
take proprietary material home with you!

I wouldn't have a need to connect to the i. I can transfer source code
between my work system and personal machine.

If they do not let you on the network, how would you connect to the IBM

If they let you do that, then they should let you get to the license
server.
