I spent the rest of Friday afternoon with a smirk on my face. Pressing three keys made this mundane task a joy. This tip saved me having to reach for the mouse all the time.

Then on the weekend I was doing IBM BPM (again Eclipse based) and had to use the mouse for things I think I can do with short cut keys. Looks like a job for scripting...

Those of us who haven't done much scripting can't readily see the value.
So I'm trying to show some value :-)
I wonder how many folks don't see the value simply because they are
happy enough with what they have. I mean, some people don't realize
that they want something until they're exposed to it, and I guess some
of these folks could be won over. But some people, even after seeing
what you can do, may not care that you can do it. Or it's not
attractive enough to outweigh the (perceived) cost in terms of the
time and effort to learn it.
You said it better than I did.

There are programmers who, having learnt one thing, stop there; happy
enough. But there are others who are willing to learn other things but
are too busy to explore on their own. A sampling of 'other things' is
sometimes enough to get that exploration going.
