Eric

When I installed DS4, it highjacked the help system. I seem to have lost the RDi help, which I have set to go to the net.

Would it have helped to use a different package group?

Is that kind of thing expected behavior, or is it a surprise to you, as much as it was to me?

I am behind a proxy server, so this has been more than my toleration of interesting!

Thanks
Vern

When products are installed with IBM Installation Manager, one of the
questions is which existing package group you want to install the product
into or if you want to create a new package group. If products are
compatible, they can be installed together in the same package group. e.g.
RDi 9.0 is compatible with RDAIXLinux 9.0/RAD 9.0/RDz 9.0/RBD 9.0/RTC
4.0.3/etc. as well as Data Studio 4.1. When multiple products are in the
same package group, then the functionality is all available in one IDE.

You can have the same product installed multiple times by using multiple
package groups. With this, you can have different features of the product
installed as well as having it installed with different sets of other
products. Also, you can also have them at different fixpack levels.

You would need to install using Installation Manager. The key is to add
the location of your medium in as a repository. To do this, when you have
the main panel up for the Installation Manager, go to File, Preferences.
Then click Add Repository and navigate to your diskTag.inf file in the
disk1 folder. It should then be able to install it from there.

How do you install Data-Studio INTO RDi 9.0?

I have download and installed the stand-alone version. But, now that I have
RDi 9, I would love to have a single place to install it. Would that mean
to re-install it, and select RDI 9 to integrate it with RDi?

I assume I would uninstall the stand-Alone, and re-install into RDi 9
folder?

Some guidance would be appreciated.

IBM Data Studio is IBM's tools for SQL development and tuning. This used
to cost money as was called Optim Development Studio. It is now free and
is shipped with the product. It integrates with RDi and gives enhanced SQL
development and database administration.
