Re: what is worklight and data studio

I'm able to see my legacy CRTPF tables (20 y/o ERP application) using IBM Data Studio v4.1. Could it be the way I configured the driver? The connection I use most uses the "naming=system;" property and the user credentials used is a profile having a job description with an initial library list for our normal erp environment (although, I do not believe this library list is necessary for visibility in IBM Data Studio).

DS will not show you tables that are created without DDS or DDL - where you use CRTPF with record length - that makes it a bit unhelpful. I know, some might say those are not tables! Sobeit!

I had tried an older version - it didn't handle stored procedures well, as I recall - but that was a few years ago.

I have decided not to use it - nor to use Squirrel - the component in IBM i Navigator is still my choice.

IBM Data Studio is IBM's tools for SQL development and tuning. This used
to cost money as was called Optim Development Studio. It is now free and
is shipped with the product. It integrates with RDi and gives enhanced SQL
development and database administration. The query tuning portion does not
apply to the DB2 for i database. You can still use IBM i Navigator for
that.

Well, I can at least see what data studio does for SQL development
and administration on DB2 for i.
