I think you may be misconstruing what was said. The only portion of data studio that does not apply to IBM i is the query tuning features, the rest of the tool works very well. IBM i has superior ability to tune DB/2 and the tooling reflects that.

Well, I can at least see what data studio does for SQL development and
administration on DB2 for i.
