Yes, it can be done in RDi.

-- Bring up the Debug perspective.
-- You should have a Breakpoints view (part of several views in the upper right area of RDI).
-- When you establish a debug session (Under Run, Debug Configurations) and start it, once the program listing appears in the LPEX Editor view, you can right click in the Breakpoints view and select Add Breakpoint, which will then provide two options...Line and Watch.

I also like to add the variable to the Monitors view so I can see what value it currently has. When you hit your watch breakpoint (when the variable changes), it'll show the new value right away.

Hopefully that will provide some direction in getting a debug session with Watch established.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] WATCH in RDi Debug

It has been a long time since I have used the green-screen STRDBG. I seem to remember being able to "watch" a field and have it automatically break at the point in the program when that field value changed. Is this possible in RDi Debug? And if so, how do you do it?

Thanks,

Robert J. Mullis
