Yeah, Robert, I did too - only after kind of working out what I needed to find - too much like InfoCenter, eh?

I really got there only by finding the "Integrated IBM i Debugger" topic, then a section on watches, then a link there to setting a watch - sheesh!!

Sorry, didn't mean any negativity - and now I know that pointing at the help text for RDi can be basically a waste of time!

First Vern, I had already searched through the help, but couldn't find
it. That is why I posted this question.

I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] WATCH in RDi Debug

First, there should be some help text you can search.

But I think if you double-click or otherwise highlight a variable, then
right-click it, you should see an option to set your watch.

I just checked the help - that is correct - there are a couple other
ways that don't pre-load the variable.

Watches are over a certain memory location, which the variable
"addresses", so to speak.

It has been a long time since I have used the green-screen STRDBG. I
seem to remember being able to "watch" a field and have it automatically
break at the point in the program when that field value changed. Is
this possible in RDi Debug? And if so, how do you do it?

Thanks,

Robert J. Mullis
