So why git and not SVN ?

Yeah, that would be a bit more complicated. You'd have to have all the SSH keys set up properly. Would the mac be local? Or would you want it available over the web as well?

I was trying to setup a git server so I could publish changes from my Mac to my Ubuntu server (that is backed up). I just need to take more time sometime to figure it out.
