User Account Control. The one that pops up and says "Do you want this
unknown program to make changes ......." and you go ahead and click
Yes. It was the constantly nagging software popup that turned off so
many users in Vista. "Do you want to install this..." "Do you want this
program to make changes..." "Do you want to allow this program to access
the Internet..."
You can turn off UAC in Control Panel--> User Accounts and click on the
"Change User Account Control Settings" link. There is a slider bar that
sets the degree of annoyance or you can turn it off completely (forcing
a reboot).
