I am on average twice as productive in RDi, whether it's the outline or the content assist or the colored syntax or the task view or the ease of copying source from one machine to another or the powerful search capabilities or the user-defined commands or ...
Wow ... you're not very productive at all Joe <grin/>.
I am at least 90% more productive using RDi ... and I don't like outline view & don't use content assist.Yeah, heck, I forgot the sheer real estate issue. That in itself is worth the price of admission.
Just having a larger view of source, copy & paste, being able to view 2 or more source members at the same time, etc, all make me far more productive.
Yeah, I know, I know. But there are still a few internally described display files lurking out there, and sometimes you don't have the time to rewrite them...And that's working on a mix of RPG II through ILE.
"RPG II"??? What have I told you about vulgarity, Joe! <grin times="2"/>
SEU has no place as the primary development tool for a programmer, in ANY language. It works, but it's the wrong tool for the job.
Sadly, I can't agree entirely with that ... RDi / RDp have a long way to go when it comes to CL. That's primarily what I use SEU for now.
How often do you use SEU to write Java code, Vern?
Vulgarity!
