I am curious as I have customers who have fully embraced Webfacing.
This has always been the case. *Any* screen scraping product - whether it's WebFacing or one of the 5250 products - is at best an interim solution. That's not to mean that someone can't use it for a long time, especially in our market. System/36 mode is an interim solution as well, and people still use it. But the point is that screen scraping doesn't get you any closer to a rearchitected solution.

The only way to get to the next design point is to rearchitect your existing packages to an SOA design, where you separate business logic and display. Anybody who has done that doesn't have this issue. They can replace their green screen with another interface and not have to change their servers.

That's why I personally consider HTML opcodes in RPG to be a bad answer; they will provide one more way to let programmers extend the life of monolithic RPG programs through refacing when in reality they need to rewrite them into true message-based servers.
