That's great to hear that's the way you're teaching it! Does all of IBM
teach it that way now?
When we do labs at conferences, we ask the conference organizers to load RSE
on the workstations and we strongly encourage everyone to use it and we'll
help them out with getting started.
Two things I'm noticing more and more:
1) More people use RSE in the lab because it's what they use at home.
Usually less than half still, but the number is growing.
2) Almost everyone at least tries RSE, even if they haven't used it before,
and typically these days I'd say 80% or more of the room is still using RSE
at the end of the session - even though the lab wasn't about RSE - we just
do a little handholding as necessary and often folks sitting nearby help out
as well.
I know they don't walk out of that lab feeling as comfortable with RSE as
they were with SEU when they walked in, but I'm pretty sure a lot of them
went home and tried it out. And I hope a bunch of them are comfortable with
it now!

Not every company can effort to send the developer to take a 5 days
training.
Students attending my 4-day RPG IV Fundamentals course also get WDSc/RSE
and CODE Designer bundled in, as well PDM/SEU. They then have a choice
which toolset they prefer to use in class. Most stick with WDSc - largely
because it's new and it's fun!
The IBM Course on WDSc covers the full range of i5-related facilities,
(RSE, LPEX, Projects, Debug, CODE Designer, etc.) plus some
install/config/maintain topics - hence the 2-days.
