I've wondered too if it's a kind of cheat - we still have to use the
STRRSESVR command, after all.
Why do you need STRRSESVR? If you're debugging ILE, you can just set a
service entry point. If you're not debugging, just enter the command on
the green screen.
Look, folks, if you're doing green screen commands, using a green screen is
not cheating. If you want GUI versions of green screen commands, write
them! Although, from my own perspective, with the possible exception of
some of the DSP programs Larry was talking about, you shouldn't care.
But let's assume you never want to open a green screen again. Okay, I would
be interested to see a list of those green screen commands people would most
require in a GUI environment.
