From: Bob P. Roche

I may also add that the people who are slowly coming
up to speed are also trying to handle coding in RPGIV from RPG400/III, and
free form coding at the same time. So I can understand how they may be
slow to adjust.

This is a huge point, Bob. The sheer amount of change in the midrange
platform in the last decade compared to the previous two is enormous, and a
lot of us green screen dinosaurs have had trouble making the change. I'm
lucky that I was always a PC guy, but at the same time there are newfangled
things I don't like, like "Extreme Programming" and "Flavor of Love" <grin>.

But to not recognize the vast capabilities of WDSC (the debugger puts STRDBG
to shame) is really to do a disservice to those that don't know any better.
Sure, there will always be some people who don't make the jump. They
probably don't like SQL, either, and wonder what the fuss with indicators is
all about. But to let THOSE people distract the folks who are on the fence
and who really would benefit from the tool given a little coaching and
teaching, well that's just sad.

Because like it or not, WDSC is where all the money is going. And even
though it will be called RDi in the future, it's still where all the new
features are going, and that's just the way it is, whether you love it or
hate it.
